“Here Youth” - Student Ministries

Here Youth is a community of students grades 7-12 from Terwillegar Community Church.

Drop-In

Drop-in is our after-school program for our awesome Here Youth students and friends. It takes place in the lobby area of the church building from 3:00pm until 7:00pm. Come directly to the church right after school. We will have a space to do homework, places to hang out, play games, and socialize. At Drop In, we set up for the youth night, and finally, we cook and share a meal together. We’d love for you to join us on Wednesday afternoons!

Wednesday Nights

Throughout the school year, we would love for you to join us on Wednesdays at TCC for a great night of community of learning and hanging out. We will meet at 7:00pm and go until 9:00pm in various locations around the church. These nights are every week, but be sure to check our seasonal calendar to stay up to date!

Wednesday evenings are dedicated to growing as followers of Jesus through times of worship, learning from the Bible, discussing in small groups, and playing games. It’s a wonderful place to have open and honest discussions about faith. We encourage you to come with your questions, doubts, curiosity, and a hunger to grow.

Our desire as students and leaders is to bring Jesus “here”, wherever “here” may be. We believe that the best way to live your life is with Jesus! At youth we not only learn about Jesus, we learn how to share that hope with the world not only with our words but also with our actions. This means that no matter where you are, what you are doing, and who you are with, you bring the living hope in the world.

Friday Nights

We have youth events on the 1st and the 3rd Friday of almost every month.
The first Friday is dedicated to small group nights. These are opportunities to build a tight community with students in your age group. These nights can be devotion-based nights, or hang-out nights, to going and doing an event together like minigolf or laser tag together. The point is to build a solid friend group where you can encourage one another within your faith and life.
The third Friday nights are our big group nights, themed events, or outings! If you'd like to find out more details on these nights, you can look ahead at the calendar or check the weekly youth emails! Some recurring events for us are PingPong Wars, the Corn Maze, our Mystery Night, and Freedom Fighters!

Retreats

The Alberta Baptist Association (the ABA) is made up of 60 churches from the North American Baptist Conference (NABC). These churches ‘associate’ together in order to connect and enable churches to impact communities for the growth and advancement of the Kingdom of God, in Alberta and in the world. Each year, the ABA, and in parternship with Camp Caroline, host these amazing retreats for our students in grads 7-12. The Youth Ministries throughout the ABA are invited to two retreats within the school year!
The first being the ABA Junior High Retreat happens every year in November. The second being the ABA Senior High Retreat which takes place in March. You don't want to miss these weekends; they are always a highlight of the youth year!
For more details, please look at our calendar, weekly emails, and social media.
