Hearing God's Voice - Seminar

  • Terwillegar Community Church (map)

Jesus said, “My sheep hear My voice” (John 10:27), yet this is not always the experience of many Christians. Every believer has the inherent privilege of hearing from the Creator of the universe. God is regularly communicating with us, but we often miss what He is saying because we have not learned—or been taught—how to discern His voice. To hear Him, it is important to recognize and discern the many ways He speaks.

In this seminar, we will dig into and explore the ways God speaks. It is important to note that when Jesus speaks, it is not like having a conversation with a neighbour. We will explore how He speaks, how we hear His voice, and root everything in Scripture. This seminar will be interactive, and examples will be provided. We will examine what Scripture teaches, what experience reveals, and how to continue hearing God’s voice.

For those interested, an invitation for further learning and practice will be given.

This seminar will be led by Dr. Randy Baker. Randy spent 37 years working in the social services field, including pastoring a small country church for a season. He has led and co-led small groups, done extensive teaching in the church, and has served on the board of House of Prayer Edmonton for many years. He engaged in significant adult education throughout his professional career and completed a Doctorate in Apologetics as a retirement project a few years ago.
