Because walking with Jesus is always an adventure!
TCC has been blessed with lots of kids and a great space for them to learn and grow in. Adventurland checkin can be found in the foyer near the SW entrances. On your first visit please stop by our “First Time Registration” table. After your initial visit, you can use our self check-in stations and proceed directly to your classes to meet your teachers and friends.
Preschool and elementary programs start at 10:00 and all nursery and two year olds may be dropped off before or during the service.
Nursery (0-24 months)
The nursery is located on the main floor, near the east entrance. If you are registering your under 24 month old for the first time, please visit the Children’s Ministry Welcome Team by the south doors… but every time after this, you can check your baby in for the morning right in the nursery. You may bring your baby to the nursery before the service starts or at any time throughout the service. This is a bright and cheery space that we hope you and your baby will enjoy.
Preschool FIRST LOOK Program
We offer three classes under the “First Look” banner. These are the 3 year old class, 4 & 5 year old class and the Kindergarten class. All three groups meet together in their age group, then gather together for large group time where they sing songs and have a Bible-based video lesson. They then return to their smaller groups, where they participate in activities and crafts in age specific classrooms. Our aim is that they understand three basic truths by the time they graduate – God loves them, God made them, and Jesus wants to be their “forever friend”. This is a fun and fast moving place!
Upper Elementary (Grades 5 & 6) Program
Children in Grades 5 & 6 attend the beginning of the worship service, and then head upstairs to their class (Room 208) just before the message (watch for the slide that signals that they are dismissed). The teaching at this level doesn’t follow a set curriculum, but rather goes through different studies… some of the usual subjects covered are practices of the Christian faith such as baptism and communion, social justice, making wise choices, and how science and Christianity are compatible. This group of kids always have tons of really good questions, and the discussions are pretty neat! This group joins with the adult worship service on all long weekends, and throughout the summer months.
The 2 year old classroom is upstairs, and is full of lots of toys and books to keep our little ones happily engaged in play while you enjoy the Sunday morning worship service.
Lower Elementary – Bible Studies for Life
For our grade 1-4 kids, we have an engaging program based on the Bible Studies for Life curriculum that focuses on growing them into young people who Know Jesus, Walk with Jesus and finally, Share Jesus. One main way we encourage this is by focusing on Biblical Literacy. Kids start out in small groups with others in their grade, and about fifteen minutes into the service, all four grades gather together for a large group time where we worship together and have a teaching time. After large group is done, the small groups engage in crafts, games, and activities that reinforce the lesson from large group. On long weekends in May thru September, as well as over Christmas break, they get the chance to join the adults for the main worship service.
