Ken MacDonald, Senior Pastor

Pastor Ken grew up on the farm east of Olds, Alberta. He is a graduate of Seattle Pacific University in 1969 – Bachelor of Arts in History. He and his wife, Marg both attended the North American Baptist Seminary in Sioux Falls, South Dakota graduating in 1973 with Ken obtaining a Master of Divinity degree and Marg, a Master of Arts in Christian Education. Ken and Marg pastored First Baptist Church in Arnprior, Ontario (1973-1979) prior to coming to Edmonton to serve at Meadowlark Baptist Church. Ken served at Meadowlark Baptist Church, later to be called West Meadows Baptist Church for 23 years. During this season he completed a Doctor of Ministry program through the North American Baptist Seminary.

Ken gave leadership to the formation of the new Church Plant, Terwillegar Community Church beginning in the fall of 2002. Ken’s passion is connecting with the community to share the exciting love of God. He currently serves as chair of the North American Baptist Foundation Board.

Ken and Marg have three married daughters and six grandchildren. His relaxing moments are spent with the latest technical gadgets, golfing, travelling, keeping current with politics and best of all, his family.

Norbert Janke, Lead Associate Pastor

Pastor Norb was born and raised in Edmonton, and after graduating from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1989, he graduated from Taylor Seminary with a Master of Divinity degree in 1992. Since then he has served as Associate Pastor at Hawkwood Baptist Church, Calgary (1992-1997) and as Senior Pastor at First Baptist Church, Arnprior, Ontario (1997-2008). At TCC he is responsible for overseeing the staff, Connecting Ministries, Operations, as well as teaching & preaching.

He met his wife Tina, from Cleveland, Ohio at a conference in Chicago in 1993, and they were married a year later.  Pastor Norb and Tina have two children, Lucas (19) and Anna (17).

When he’s not spending time with his family, he enjoys following sports, playing soccer (if he's not nursing yet another injury!), biking, golfing, and organizing his golf ball collection (he may be the only person who ever needed to re-grip his ball retriever!).

Adam Buyer,  Associate Pastor

Pastor Adam grew up Edmonton before moving oversees to Scotland where he did missions work alongside his wife Jalene for 1 year. In 2010 they moved to Calgary AB where Adam completed his journeyman ticket in Capentry while he and his wife began their music ministry "Elsa and Foster".  In 2014 He and his wife moved to Three Hills to attend Prairie College where he graduated with his Bachelors of Arts in Pastoral ministry in the spring of 2017. At TCC Adam oversees the worship, HOME groups, men's, and equip ministries. 

Adam met his wife at Camp Caroline while they were both at high school camp, they were married in 2008 on thanksgiving day. Pastor Adam and Jalene welcomed their first child Elisabeth Grace into their family August 2018. 

Adam loves continuing to serve alongside his wife as they share their music. He spends his off days listening to vinyl, going for long runs, and sipping coffee.

Ann Kuehn, Discipleship Director


Ann was raised in Edmonton until 13 years of age. She then moved to San Diego where her family opened a business. Ann completed high school and 2 years of University while she lived there. Then she moved back to Edmonton to finish her BA in Psychology. Ann married Greg Kuehn in 1999 and now has three children; Jack, Carter and Lily. Ann enjoys the active lifestyle of being a 'hockey mom', reading, learning and entertaining. She came to know and love the Lord in her late 20's and loves working at TCC and serving the children of TCC.

Cheryl Horn, Children's Ministry Director

Cheryl was born and raised in Edmonton, but feels that this must have been some cosmic error as she much prefers warmer climates! :)  She married Joe in 1996, and they have three boys: Elijah, Gabriel and Joshua. Cheryl completed a B.Comm. at the U of A, and worked in the financial industry for 17 years, but has recently started to listen to her more artistic side.  In 2014 she started studying to become an Art Therapist.  She became a Christian in High School as a result of the Christian club’s outreach, and believes that kids can do great things for the Lord!!  Cheryl loves working with pre-teen age kids, and feels privileged to be able to lead the Children's Ministry at TCC.

Nicole Michaud, Preschool Director

Nicole was born in Edmonton, and lived here until she was 13 years old. She then moved to the Lower Mainland, but returned with her husband Guy, son Zackery, and daughter Alexa. Nicole wanted to be a teacher since she was a preschooler herself, so was very excited when she accomplished that goal. Nicole is a wife, a mother, a teacher, and has been a director of education for a private tutoring company as well. Nicole is now thrilled directing the Terwillegar Community Preschool!

Jenie Mathew, Administrative Assistant for Senior Pastor

Jenie was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario. There she attended Ryerson University and graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Social Work.  She is currently serving at TCC in the area of office administration.  Jenie's role as Administrative Assistant to Pastor Ken, includes support for the growing ministries of TCC.   

She moved to Calgary when she married Manoj and six years later they moved to Edmonton. God has blessed them with three children, Mya (13), Yasmeen (11), and Thomas (7). While she works part-time at TCC, she is obviously a full-time, busy mom. Jenie enjoys cooking, singing, and traveling, but most of all spending quality time with her husband and kids.

Tina Janke, Administrative Assistant

Tina was born and raised south of Cleveland, Ohio in a small village called Valley View.  There she attended the Cuyahoga Valley Vocational School where she studied Office Administration.  Since graduating she has worked for several companies in the role of Administrative Assistant.  Tina met Pastor Norb in Chicago while attending a youth conference as a youth leader and the rest is history (see Pastor Norb’s bio).  After marrying Norb she moved to Calgary, Alberta for three years and then to Arnprior, ON for twelve years before relocating here in Edmonton to serve at Terwillegar Community Church. 

Norb and Tina have two children; Lucas (18) and Anna (16).  She loves being a wife and a mom and also enjoys running, biking, cooking, travelling and being with friends.

Barry Kossowan, Facility Manager

Barry was born in Elk Point and has always lived in Alberta. His Dad, a school teacher, moved the family often; Ashmont to Smith to Rochester to Edmonton to Fort Saskatchewan to Maleb to Trochu, finally settling in Killam in 1965. Barry completed high school at Central High in Sedgewick, Alberta and completed his B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering in 1973 (yes – with a slide rule!). He and Dianne were married in 1981, have four children and 2 granddaughters. Both enjoy laboring in their yard, entertaining and watching major league baseball. Barry serves as Facilities Manager at TCC, is president of ACT for Community and consults part-time in the field of welded overlays.

Sean Montgomery, Facility Operations

Sean was born and raised in the Greater Vancouver area. Soon after accepting Jesus as his Lord and Saviour in his early twenties. He became involved with Shiloh Youth Ranch, near the town of Bruderheim, Alberta. He moved to Edmonton and worked with Shiloh Youth Ranch for multiple summers and various fall programs. He met his wife, Dianna at Millwoods Pentecostal Young Adults and they married in 2008. They have two boys, Joshua and Elijah. Sean graduated from Vanguard College with a Diploma of Theology and is currently completing his Master of Divinity at Taylor Seminary.
